After spending the first two days settling in and getting used the USA Olympic facilities and turf in Chula Vista, California, Team Canada faced an eager Korean hockey team for an exhibition match on Day 3 of their journey towards the World Cup Qualifier tournament.
After two 25 minute halves of some highly paced hockey in the sun, the Koreans beat the Canadians 1-0 on a well taken shot that beat Azelia Liu in the far corner…

So, it was only 30 degrees today in the beaming hot sun. We learned from yesterday to apply the sunscreen before we leave the hotel and not just before we start running. Some of us put 6 layers on to keep the rays of sun off the skin. Needless to say we are all going to be coming home with interesting tans. This morning we woke up at 7 am aka 1 am Vancouver time. After having a Uruguayan breakfast, we got on the bus and drove to our first practice. The sand field will take some getting used to, but it’s really cool when you look up for a pass and see a donkey prancing down the road. At 28 degrees at 9 am, the heat basically killed all of us.
