Field Hockey Canada has decided to cancel the 2010 Indoor National Championships. While there are several reasons that have factored into this decision the most pronounced include our inability to confirm in a timely fashion:
1) An appropriate number of quality umpires and officials to participate in the event
2) An appropriate number of confirmed registered teams across any of the age divisions
We greatly apologize for the inconvenience this causes our membership but wish you the best during the remainder of the season.

Women's Pan Am Youth team named
Women’s Pan Am Youth Championship team announced

The 2010 Women’s U17 Pan American Youth Championship Team has been announced. Congratulations to the following athletes who will represent Canada at the first ever Youth Olympic Qualifier, held March 13 – 21, 2010 in Montevideo, Uruguay. Field Hockey BC earned the right to send two teams to represent Canada at the Pan American Youth Championships by winning the Gold Medal at both the Girls and Boys Canadian Under 16 National Championships this past summer…

For the past eight months Field Hockey Canada has been working on the development of a national mini-game aimed at the Fundamentals stage of the Long Term Hockey Development model. The program is called FunStix and is targeted towards boys and girls age 6-10. Canadian women to travel to Chile and Argentina

Field Hockey Canada has announced the location and tentative schedule for the women’s national team’s upcoming January tour. The team will play matches in Santiago, Chile and Buenos Aires, Argentina from January 22 – February 6.
The names of the 18 women who will represent Canada on the tour were announced in December.
Tentative Schedule:
January 22, 2010 – Arrival in Santiago
January 26, 2010 – Match against Chilean Club
January 27, 2010 – Test Match vs Chile
January 29, 2010 – Test Match vs Chile
January 30, 2010 – Test Match vs Chile
January 31, 2010 – Arrival in Buenos Aires, Argentina
February 1, 2010 – Match against Argentina ‘A’
February 2, 2010 – Match against Argentina ‘A’
February 4, 2010 – Match against Argentina ‘A’

Field Hockey Canada (FHC) is issuing its second Call to Officials for the 2010 FHC Indoor National Championships. Umpires and technical officials with significant experience in indoor hockey are asked to fill out the below application and submit it to FHC prior to January 12th, 2010.

FHC announces women’s team for January tour

Field Hockey Canada and head coach Louis Mendonca today announced the names of the 18 women who will be competing with the senior national team on an upcoming tour this January. Also included in the release are the names of the additional athletes who will train with the squad in preparation for the event. The exact location of the tour is yet to be finalized.
The total onshore and offshore squad features athletes from British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta, and Prince Edward Island…
