The Canadian men’s national field hockey team were defeated by South Africa 4-1 Tuesday afternoon in Salta, Argentina. It was Canada’s second game of the 2009 International Hockey Federation (FIH) Champions Challenge after a 2-1 loss to Pakistan on Sunday.
Both teams started tentatively, with the first chance for Canada when Connor Grimes received a good cross from Mark Pearson but was prevented from deflecting it in goal…

Due to low registration numbers Field Hockey Canada has been forced to cancel the senior men’s and senior women’s divisions of the 2010 Indoor National Championships. The tournaments were to take place outside Winnipeg, Manitoba from March 25 – 28, 2010.

The Canadian men’s national field hockey team tied New Zealand 3-3 Wednesday afternoon in Salta, Argentina. The match was an exhibition contest as the two sides prepare for the 2009 FIH Champions Challenge I tournament beginning December 6th.

The Canadian men’s national field hockey team departs today for Argentina to compete in the 2009 FIH Champions Challenge I tournament. The team will assemble in Buenos Aires on Saturday before flying together to Salta on Sunday.
Canada’s opening match is scheduled for next Sunday, December 6 at 12:05 pm local time against Pakistan.
In the interim the Canadian team will acclimatize and prepare for the event through training sessions, team building, and scrimmages…

FIH announces pools for women’s World Cup Qualifiers

After nine teams already qualified automatically for the BDO FIH World Cup women 2010, 18 formations still have a chance to qualify through one of the three World Cup Qualifiers.
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) announced the pools and locations for these tournaments. Canada will compete in San Diego, California alongside Korea, Belgium, France, Mexico, and host United States.
